Mary Schneider is a Professor Emerita in the Department of Kinesiology (Occupational Therapy Program) and Psychology, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on the effects of prenatal alcohol and/or prenatal stress exposure on neurobehavioral development, brain function and chronic alcoholism in adulthood.
Mary Schneider is a Professor Emerita in the Department of Kinesiology (Occupational Therapy Program) and Psychology, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focused on the effects of prenatal alcohol and/or prenatal stress exposure on neurobehavioral development and brain function. Her current work uses state-of-the-art neuroimaging techniques to examine neuro adaptational brain changes in neurotransmitter function after chronic alcohol consumption. Mary has been a grateful member of Al-anon for over 30 years, also facilitating al-anon meetings at the Dane County Jail. She has given presentations over the years on the role of the family in adolescent substance abuse recovery.
