Memoriam Donations

Donations to the Recovery Foundation provide financial assistance to those in treatment for substance abuse addiction, who are unable to meet the financial criteria for services.

At the request of the families, your memorial donation will go towards providing a Treatment Scholarship to someone on their journey to recovery.

A life that touches others, goes on forever.

In Loving Memory of Shelley Lagally

Shelley Lagally was a charming, beautiful, and extraordinarily intelligent woman and soul mate.  She was an educator, mom, health science professional, volunteer, conservationist, and world traveler.  Shelley passed away unexpectedly at home on the night of March 23, 2024. Beloved by all who had the good fortune to know her, interact with her, or work with her, she leaves a void that will be impossible to fill.

If you wish to honor Shelley, the family suggests a donation to the UW Arboretum, Wisconsin Conservation Voters, Great Lakes Wildlife Alliance, Recovery Foundation, or a horse rescue organization of your choice.

In Loving Memory of John Tobler

march 25, 1988-August 15, 2023

With a heavy heart I share that on August 15th John Tobler passed away. Let’s remember John’s great heart, the laughter, joy and adventure he shared with us whether living in the mountains of Colorado, or traveling and working in the Caribbean. The amazing photos John captured of his life remind us that his hard work, creativity, and friendships are to be remembered and celebrated while we try to navigate life’s most difficult times. John, we love you, and you will be missed as a brother, husband, son, and friend.

John faced his greatest challenge struggling with alcoholism which we tried our best to provide loving support and resources for him over the last several years. His deep physical and mental struggles with the effects of alcoholism ultimately led him to take his own life.

If you desire to, we ask that you please make a donation of any amount to Recovery Foundation, a non profit organization who provided John with support free of charge through donations just like yours.
